Introducing Southern Unit Trust,
the Retirement Specialist

When it was just launched in the late 90s, unit trust was treated as just another investment opportunity, focusing on speculation for short-term gains instead of focusing on long term growth.

Southern Unit Trust was perceived as just another unit trust company with little to differentiate it from competitors.

We started a conversation that unit trust should be viewed as a long term financial planning tool. It was a position that resonated with people of similar mindsets, and we managed to get people to transfer their savings from under their beds to investing in unit trust.

Southern Unit Trust thereafter became known as the Retirement Specialist.  Today Southern Unit Trust has merged with Bank Bumiputera to create CIMB.
